If you haven't yet, please follow GHET at our Spotify artist page. We've been sharing some of our own playlists there, including this playlist I curated from my acoustic solo LPs that features collaborations with artists like Mandolin Orange and Phil Cook.

Playing our only July trio show this Saturday 7/7 at Bar Chord in Brooklyn, NY. We've been working on our as-yet-untitled GHET LP and planning for a fall release. Loving the way these tunes are sounding. LP details and fall tourdates to be announced soon.

Single on Spotify now! Bklyn Bowl 5/30

GHET – COMING TO GET YOU – ON SPOTIFY NOW

Our new Greg Humphreys Electric Trio single Coming to Get You is now on Spotify – LISTEN HERE

There aren't many ways left for a band to make money from recorded music, but Spotify pays artists every time a song is streamed – so we’re asking you to please stream Coming to Get You as much as possible.

If you host a Spotify playlist for yourself or others, it's very important to us that you please add Coming to Get You to your list. We’ve learned that the more playlists a song appears on, the more likely Spotify’s curators will add the song to their own playlists and reach millions of people. Please help us reach these new people and make a living from our music.

Following us at our Spotify band page also supports us. We're sharing some playlists of our own there, if you'd like to have a listen.

Coming to Get You came to me during the 2016 presidential election, inspired by the classic soul music-with-a-message of longtime musical heroes like Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder. Our trio developed it on stage and in studio.

It's a warning to those in power who, in defiance of the will of the people, continue to destroy our environment and devastate our working class. For those who say there is no good protest music being made these days, here's a song for you.

Bassist Matt Brandau, drummer Keith Robinson and I recorded the track in my studio space here in NYC. Oscar Zambrano mastered it at Zampol Productions. It's taken a while to dial my rig and recording room in, and now I'm really excited about the sounds we're getting.

We're celebrating the release of Coming to Get You in Brooklyn with a full set at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday, May 30. We'll be playing many of the new tunes from our upcoming LP and we hit at 8 PM.

We're supporting the amazing New Orleans pianist, singer and songwriter Jon Cleary. He's collaborated with legends like Dr. John and Allen Toussaint. I've shared the bill with Jon before, and he is absolutely one of the best. One not to miss. Advance tickets here

Love,
Greg

GH at 11th St Bar 2/1, GHET at Sunny's Bar 3/1

Happy New Year, friends. Hopefully we'll have some good news this year and somehow avoid a constitutional crisis or a new war along the way. In the meantime, We'll continue to make our music and carry on the best we can.

I'll be playing a rare solo set at my EV neighborhood fave The 11th Street Bar on Thursday, February 1, 9 – 11 PM. Although this is a solo show, I won't be getting too folky... expect electric guitar, loops, and friends sitting in. Should be an interesting night.

GHET continues our bi-monthly Sunny's Bar / 11th Street Bar NYC residencies with a return to Sunny's Bar on March 1. We had a fantastic night there in January during the blizzard – looking forward to our return. We continue to work on our new recordings and we're looking at some spring dates down south. More from Matt, Keith and I soon!

Had a wonderful time in December with Hobex in Greensboro NC for our holiday show. Andy Ware, David McCracken, and Eddie Walker killed it. Hopefully it won't be too long until the next Hobex show comes around – thank y'all for coming. One to remember.

It's been five years since I moved to NYC to be with Ruby; our son Jim turns 4 years old this week. I love our little family so much. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Love,
Greg

If you haven't yet, please consider purchasing our Greg Humphreys Electric Trio Lucky Guy LP on vinyl. This is the first release of my music on vinyl since the early 90s... this album just sounds better on a record.

Trio NYC 12/6, Hobex GSO 12/15

GHET AT 11TH STREET BAR 12/6

Hi, friends. Hope you're ready for winter; I most assuredly am not. I do, however, have a couple of recently added December shows I'd like you to know about. First up, Keith Robinson, Matt Brandau and I will be back at 11th Street Bar on Wednesday, December 6th from 9 to 11 PM.

This will be the last Greg Humphreys Electric Trio show of the year. Would love to see you there! Expect some Rockin' and Rollin' and Funkin' and Soulin' (and perhaps a holiday number or two) at one of the East Village's best bars.

HOBEX AT BLIND TIGER 12/15

On Friday, December 15 in Greensboro, NC, Hobex will play our only show of 2017 for The Blind Tiger's Holiday Celebration. Joining me will be longtime Hobex bassist Andy Ware, drummer Eddie Walker, and keyboardist David McCracken of Donna The Buffalo. Mark Kano and Mike Garrigan of Athenaeum open! Get your advance tickets here. Excited to play a set of Hobex music with Andy, Eddie, and David; nothwithstanding the attire suggested in the event poster, I will not be wearing a Santa suit. ;)

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to see Greg Humphreys Electric Trio on our fall tourdates! Had some good turnouts, some wonderful musical guests (Gibb Droll in Raleigh, my sis Ann in Winston-Salem), and a nice preview in Yes! Weekly. I am really enjoying playing our new songs. Gregory Silva did a multi-camera shoot of our Muddy Creek Music Hall show in W-S... hope to share that with you soon. Matt Brandau, Keith Robinson and I are slowing down for the rest of the year, as far as Electric Trio live performances, but we'll be chipping away at trio LP No. 2. More on that soon.

I've added one more fall show – I'll be down in Carrboro NC on Saturday, Nov 4 for Salt and Smoke V, a great annual fest held at Rock Quarry Farm and thrown by the folks at ACME. I'll be doing a special Greg Humphreys and Friends electric set with my pals Robert Sledge and Rob Ladd. You can get advance tickets here.

DILLON FENCE AT DORTON ARENA

Had a wonderful weekend in October playing with Kent Alphin, Chris Goode, and Scott Carle in Dorton Arena for our only DF set of the year. Thanks to all of you who braved the traffic gridlock and long lines to be with Dillon Fence and Preeesh. Apologies to those who were thwarted in their attempt to make it - the Fair was a complete madhouse that night! Thanks to those of you who tuned in to the broadcast. It's available for streaming here via UNC TV, if you missed it. Thanks to Deep South for having us at Homegrown Music Fest... hopefully we’ll have another DF show before too long.

Love,
Greg
