Brooklyn Bowl 6/18, new management

Hey there. Thank y'all for coming out to our shows in May! We had great turnouts and broke in a lot of new tunes. Doing some more arranging and recording with the trio this month... we've also added a show this coming Sunday 6/18 at Brooklyn Bowl. We're splitting the bill with The Trongone Band for their NYC album release show – doors at 6, we hit at 8 PM. Advance Tickets are $7, but dads get free admission for Father's Day.

Some exciting news: we'd like to welcome Jason Finestone on board as our band manager. Relatively new to artist management, he's been involved with the music business for a long time – he's worked on the label/venue side (Knitting Factory Entertainment) and the legal side (entertainment attorney at Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman, LLP.) He's also a musician and songwriter in his spare time. Jason has been very supportive of the trio over the last few years; he's helped us out in many ways already. We're very happy and honored to have him on our team in an official capacity.

Some of my favorite shows are outdoors with all-ages admission, and we have some good ones coming up. We'll be in Sunset Park on September 7 as part of a new concert summer series called Sunset Sounds at Industry City. We're splitting the bill with our friends in the Jamie McLean Band; admission is free, details are here. We'll visit GA and NC for Decatur Blues & Bluegrass Festival on 8/12 and Live and Local Roots Fest in Raleigh NC on 9/23. Announcing more dates soon...
Love,
Greg

Electric Trio at Brooklyn Bowl 2/20

Happy New Year, friends. If you're like me, it's certainly easy to feel depressed when thinking about what might happen in the next four years with the current leadership in place. With a three year-old boy at home, I don't have that luxury. I owe it to him to be the best father, husband, musician and songwriter I can be. I will continue to speak out about what I believe to be important. THANK YOU to everyone out there who has been marching and making our collective voice heard. I've been writing up a storm these past few months and I'm looking forward to sharing new music with you in 2017. The trio is playing a few shows close to home this winter. Next up is a 9 PM set at Brooklyn Bowl on Monday, February 20. We're sharing the bill with The Michael Gannon Band and Baby Dynamite – admission is $7, doors are at 6 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. Advance tickets here! Mark it on your calendar and share... Matt, Keith and I enjoy playing at this fantastic Williamsburg, Brooklyn venue and we'd love to see you there. Working on a couple of trips down south in the spring. More on that soon. If you use Bandsintown to keep track of artists' schedules, you can keep track of us here. I've been using it myself – it's a great way to track your faves. Here’s a video I made for "Lucky Guy,” the title track from our 2016 Electric Trio LP. It’s a snapshot travelogue from our honeymoon. Listen closely, consider the ephemerality of life, and enjoy the moment. Lucky Guy LP and Tour 2016: THANK YOU!

Only three shows left this year for the trio – Syracuse 11/17, Trumansburg 11/18, and Brooklyn 12/15. On behalf of myself, Matt Brandau, and Keith Robinson, Thank you all for making our 2016 Lucky Guy LP and Tour very memorable.

There was certainly a lot of work involved, but we had some of our best trio shows yet and received some nice accolades and spins along the way.

Thank you Matt and Keith for all the time, talent, and thought you put into this LP and tour. Also, thank you Mongrel Music, The Press House, John Plymale, Greg Calbi, Noiseland, and Al Moss Promotion for making it all happen. Of course, I can't thank our PledgeMusic campaign supporters enough for stepping up and helping us walk through the door.

More goodness ahead for 2017. We have a nice musical surprise or two in the works for the holidays as well. In the meantime, you can be sure of this: I know I'm a lucky guy.
Love,
Greg

P.S. Yes, we do still have some vinyl copies of Lucky Guy available! Visit our store to pick up a copy – it's a perfect holiday gift for that discerning music fan or vinyl junkie in your life.

Don't miss this special gathering to celebrate one of our fave venues from the 90s. There is a fantastic line up of bands and our trio set is scheduled for 10 PM. Buy advance tickets here - proceeds from the concert will benefit music programs and Girls Rock SC.

Also coming up is our set at Brooklyn Americana Music Festival on 9/23. We will be performing under the Archway in Dumbo at 9 PM. Amazing talent throughout venues in Brooklyn – admission is free, but you can contribute to the cause at the festival's Kickstarter page here.

Rest of the run: we're doing a two-night stand in Charleston SC at The Commodore on 10/2 and 3. This historic stop on the R&B circuit hosted Marvin Gaye and James Brown, among others. We'll be playing our first show in Athens GA on 10/4, on the roof of the Georgia Theater. BE LOUD 16
Our Hobex set at the Cradle for Be Loud 16 was so much fun! Thanks to my Hobex brothers Andy Ware and Rob Ladd for bringing it. Singing with Preeesh again was also a real treat. $46,000+ was raised over the weekend for the Be Loud Sophie foundation. For you Hobex junkies, here's a clip from our set:
