Single on Spotify now! Bklyn Bowl 5/30

Our new Greg Humphreys Electric Trio single Coming to Get You is now on Spotify – LISTEN HERE

There aren't many ways left for a band to make money from recorded music, but Spotify pays artists every time a song is streamed – so we’re asking you to please stream Coming to Get You as much as possible.

If you host a Spotify playlist for yourself or others, it's very important to us that you please add Coming to Get You to your list. We’ve learned that the more playlists a song appears on, the more likely Spotify’s curators will add the song to their own playlists and reach millions of people. Please help us reach these new people and make a living from our music.

Following us at our Spotify band page also supports us. We're sharing some playlists of our own there, if you'd like to have a listen.

Coming to Get You came to me during the 2016 presidential election, inspired by the classic soul music-with-a-message of longtime musical heroes like Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder. Our trio developed it on stage and in studio.

It's a warning to those in power who, in defiance of the will of the people, continue to destroy our environment and devastate our working class. For those who say there is no good protest music being made these days, here's a song for you.

Bassist Matt Brandau, drummer Keith Robinson and I recorded the track in my studio space here in NYC. Oscar Zambrano mastered it at Zampol Productions. It's taken a while to dial my rig and recording room in, and now I'm really excited about the sounds we're getting.

We're celebrating the release of Coming to Get You in Brooklyn with a full set at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday, May 30. We'll be playing many of the new tunes from our upcoming LP and we hit at 8 PM.

We're supporting the amazing New Orleans pianist, singer and songwriter Jon Cleary. He's collaborated with legends like Dr. John and Allen Toussaint. I've shared the bill with Jon before, and he is absolutely one of the best. One not to miss. Advance tickets here

Preview our new single! May dates: NY, VA, NC

We're releasing a new Greg Humphreys Electric Trio single called Coming To Get You. This tune has been a staple in our live set for the last couple of years. It's a threat, a warning, a rallying cry, a soundtrack to a movement. Join the mailing list to preview the track! It'll be on Spotify and other outlets soon – I will let you know as soon as it's available. Hope you'll dig, share, and playlist.

Heading south this weekend. I've really been enjoying playing the new trio tunes at our recent NYC gigs, and I look forward to sharing them with you! First up this month for the trio is a bi-monthy installment of our residency at Sunny's Bar in Red Hook on Thursday, May 3 at 10 PM. Then, we travel south for dates at Crafthouse in Reston VA on Friday, May 5 at 9 PM and Bonzer Shack in Kill Devil Hills NC on Saturday, May 6 at 10 PM. My great friend Craig Honeycutt (frontman for the VA band Everything) opens our Bonzer Shack show with an acoustic set at 9 PM.

At Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance on Sunday May 6 for a 5 PM set at Carson's Grove Stage. First time we've played Shakori in a couple of years... advance tickets are here. Bring the fam! GHET rounds out the month back in NYC with a Wednesday, May 30 set at Brooklyn Bowl supporting Jon Cleary, one of New Orleans' finest. Tickets here. We've begun confirming dates for a fall trio tour around the release of our new LP as well. Hope to see you this month.

Dillon Fence returns to the stage for the Mill Music Sessions concert series in Rocky Mount NC on May 19. Looking forward to playing with Kent Alphin, Scott Carle, and Chris Goode. This is our only DF show on the book thus far in 2018. Fence fans, don't miss it!
