DILLON FENCE: RALEIGH 12/20, CLT 12/21

Dillon Fence is getting together this holiday season for a couple of shows! We'll be at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, NC on Friday, December 20 for the Band Together Holiday Bash – advance tickets and info here. Balsa Gliders support. We'll be at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, December 21 for MaxxMusic presents Blue Dogs + Dillon Fence – advance tickets and info here. We hit first in Charlotte for a full set starting at 8 PM. Scott Carle, Kent Alphin, Chris Goode and I only get together a few times a year to play our Dillon Fence music and see all of our friends and fans; we'd love to see you! 

I'm going to be one of the Blue Dogs' musical guests on Sunday, December 29th in Charleston, SC for their 7th Annual Homecoming & 31st Anniversary Concert at Charleston Music Hall. This annual celebration helps to end pediatric cancer and benefits MUSC Children’s Health. Always a great roster of guests at this event... other announced guests at this year's event include dobro master Jerry Douglas! Tickets and info here.

I've enjoyed a long family trip through the EU this fall with my wife and kids. (I did sneak in solo sets at The Green Note in London with Mick Terry, La Loca in Prague with Mario Percudani and Black Tiger, and Beer Tales in Athens). I brought a portable looping / recording rig along to get some work done and do some experimenting while traveling; I've been posting some live video recordings / performances of new tunes along the way, using this setup. I've dubbed it the #takeatrip series... have a listen here at my IG page or over at FB.

LOCKN' FESTIVAL FRIDAY, AUGUST 23

Greg Humphreys Electric Trio plays LOCKN' at Infinity Downs & Oak Ridge Farm, Arrington, VA in one week – we hit the main stage at 1 PM on Friday, August 23!

There is a special spirit of cross-pollination at this year's LOCKN', with sit-ins and jams scheduled throughout the four-day festival. Check out this schedule... the number of unique collaborations and up-and-coming acts on the bill is truly amazing. BE LOUD '19 – SATURDAY, AUGUST 24

GHET performs at Be Loud '19 at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC on Saturday, August 24! This great weekend of music to benefit the Be Loud Sophie Foundation is an annual event organized by some of my favorite people. There is an amazing roster of talent at this year's Be Loud, and the level of support from the community is inspiring. Can't wait to see everyone... Tickets and info here. 



HOOTIE @ MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

Scratch a big one off the bucket list; got to perform “Hold My Hand” with Hootie and the Blowfish at Madison Square Garden on August 11, the second night of their two-night stand there. Thanks to Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Jim Sonefeld, Dean Felber, Gary Greene, Garry Murray, Peter Holsapple, and the whole organization for your incredible generosity in getting your old friend up on stage for a huge thrill.

I’ve been seeing these guys since we started trading shows around the Carolinas in the early 90s; I can say without reservation that they deserve every success they’ve had and will continue to have. They’ve proven yourselves to be one of the classic American bands, with a stack of timeless songs and one of the best singers of our generation.

Above all, They’ve proven yourselves to be great people who show us what it means to come together, step up and deliver. We need more of that in the world these days. ♥️ Thanks to Alex Curran for capturing the moment!

Brooklyn Bowl, Lockn' Festival, Be Loud '19!

GHET AT BROOKLYN BOWL TONIGHT – TUESDAY 7/30

GHET returns to the Brooklyn Bowl tonight, Tuesday July 30! Relix is presenting the show and we're supporting The Commonheart. We hit at 8 PM. This will be our last GHET show in the city for a while. EU SOLO DATES

Ruby, Jim and I have a new family member! Welcome to our beautiful daughter, Maia Grace Juliet, 2 months old, born at home at the end of May! My wife has decided not to return her job of 10+ years, and our NYC apartment lease is up at the end of August, so we've decided to take an epic family trip this fall with the kids through the EU and beyond before Jim starts 1st grade next year.  

I'm booking a handful of EU solo dates during our travels. We have already announced a London date – I'll be sharing a bill with my good friend Mick Terry at the Green Note in Camden on August 28! Tickets here. I'll be trying out a traveling version of my looping rig at these EU shows. I've posted a few tunes in this style on IGTV and FB, if you'd like to see what it's all about.

Rochester Intl Jazz Fest, new GHET video

We're playing LOCKN' on Friday, August 23 and we're excited! There's an incredible lineup of music scheduled for this annual Arrington, VA four day music festival. Tickets and info here. 

Also, it's just been announced that GHET will be playing Be Loud '19 at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC on Saturday, August 24! This will be my third time playing Be Loud, after memorable sets with Dillon Fence in 2015 and Hobex in 2016. Another great lineup of music with the proceeds benefitting a great cause, Be Loud Sophie Foundation. Tickets and information here. It's looking like LOCKN' and Be Loud '19 will be our only southeastern shows this year, so don't miss 'em!

NEW GH SINGLE –– YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME

My bandmates in GHET have been busier lately – Keith Robinson's awesome hard rock band Tanith is releasing their Metal Blade Records debut on 5/24 and Matt Brandau has been honing his super-funky upcoming solo debut, #makeout – so I've been working on a side-release or two of my own this year. Here's a new single called You're The One For Me, a live-in-the-studio performance that I recorded and videotaped with buds Jason Ewald on drums and Brian Tate on bass. NYC this week, Rochester Intl Jazz fest 6/24, 4 stars at Blurt

Two great gigs in NYC for GHET this week. We're at 11th Street Bar in the East Village this Thursday, April 4 at 9 PM –– Andy Segrave opens the show at 8 PM with Keith on drums. We're at Bar Chord in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn on Saturday night, April 6 –– kicking things off there at 10 PM.  We told you about Greg Humphreys Electric Trio's upcoming appearance at LOCKN' Festival 2019 on Aug 23 along with Trey Anastasio Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Vulfpeck, Gary Clark Jr., Khrurangbin, Jason Isbell and so many more great acts (tickets here.)  Well, we're also booked to play at Rochester International Jazz Festival on June 24! Happy New Year! Had a great time with Dillon Fence for New Year's Eve at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, NC. Thank you to everyone that came out. We're playing our only show this month next Wednesday, January 23 in NYC at 11th Street Bar, 9 PM.
