No Depression, Popdose, shows in NYC, VA, NC, GA

Greetings from the Lucky Guy tour!

Matt, Keith and I have been tearing up and down the East Coast. THANK YOU to all you wonderful people who've been coming out to support us. Big week coming up: eight shows in Brooklyn NY, Ashland VA, Durham NC, Wilmington NC, Kill Devil Hills NC, Augusta GA, Atlanta GA, and Fayetteville GA.

Our Lucky Guy LP has been getting a great reception so far — glowing record reviews in No Depression and Popdose and some great show previews and interviews from the likes of the Winston-Salem Journal and Wilmington Star-News

We hit 175% of our goal on our PledgeMusic campaign for Lucky Guy. THANK YOU to all of you pledgers for contributing to the cause! We're beginning to fulfill your orders. We've also decided to leave our campaign up for a little while longer—you can still order vinyl, CDs, and T-shirts there, as well as campaign exclusives like vinyl test pressings, original drawings, lyric sheets, and more.

If you've been unable to make a show, we have recordings! Here's our June 10 set in Winston-Salem, streaming over at Archive.org courtesy of taper Terry Killebrew.

Thank you to Frank Stasio and WUNC's State of Things for having us on their program. Here's an audio stream of our interview and performance. You can watch the video here

More soon,
Greg

Song-wise, the Lucky Guy LP tells a story of a happy time in my life. I met an amazing woman, moved to NYC, had a son, got married. The album is also a manifestation of our trio's musical relationship. These are tunes we've worked out over our two years of playing together. The second track "Crosstown," a co-write between myself and our talented bassist Matt Brandau, is really the musical collaboration that led to the forming of our Electric Trio with drummer Keith Robinson.

We recorded the basic tracks at Overdub Lane in Durham NC with my old friend John Plymale. We crafted the recording further at Keith's Brooklyn studio. Erik Deutsch played some fantastic B3 organ and electric piano for us over at Grand Street Recording. Keith mixed, Greg Calbi mastered. A lot of love and care was put into this recording! We hope you enjoy it. Available June 14 on vinyl, CD, and digital. Pre-order here.
